…Okay, maybe not a bear hunt. But an adventure for sure.
This trip, I think I’ve mentioned it a few times here, but I’m going on a trip. I’m leaving for 3 1/2 weeks for a grand solo backpacking adventure on Monday. It’s been a trip long in the works, it’s surreal to me that it’s finally here. If you’re interested, feel free to follow along via tumblr. I’ll be chronicling everything at racheloverland.tumblr.com.
One of the challenges of packing for nearly a month in just a backpack is of course the book situation. While I’ve got a ton of books on my shelves, I obviously can’t take those with me, as much as I’d like to. So I’m going to be relying solely on my iPad as an eReader. I’m in the middle of reading Justin Cronin’s The Twelve, the second book in The Passage trilogy in hardcover, but I’m buying the ebook to finish up on the trip. As for what else I’ll be reading? I’ve got a few ideas…
Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
The Bones of Paris: A Novel of Suspense by Laurie R. King
& Sons by David Gilbert
My Notorious Life by Kate Manning
Torch by Cheryl Strayed
I’m sure this list will change as my mood changes on the trip… I haven’t downloaded any of these yet, and I’ve got a few audio books too.
I won’t be posting here while I’m gone, but please do follow me on my tumblr. I’m sure there will be lots of lovely book pictures and book places along the way!
